Rain, Rain Go Away...

Monday, I had some sad little boys who wanted to play outside. Again...

So, I gave them cookies and it made it all better

Annnnd then, on Tuesday, the sun was shining. I checked the backyard and didn't see much, so I figured it would be okay to let them play. WRONG.. they found the only mud puddle in our backyard and had a blast.

So, I decided to let them play until they were content. Carter jumping in...

What a nasty boy! He loved his life this afternoon. Before I hosed him down!

And put them in the bathtub.... small meltdowns occurred before we made it here.

But at last, pop-pops cured it all.

Eddie... the mud is your turn next time :). Love my sweet boys!

Lions and Tigers and Bears....

This past Saturday, the boys and I went to the zoo with my precious friend, Laura. It was a great afternoon. Enjoy the pictures :)

Laura and Carter waiting on the polar bears

Will... he LOVED the water and wanted to get in some so bad the entire afternoon

My sweet boys...

Finally made his appearance. This is definitely my favorite part of the zoo. Polar bears are amazing!

Carter yelled.. hey doggie. Crazy babe!

Will loved this waterfall

Thanks so much for going, Laura! We had a blast!!!

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day in Booneville a few weeks ago. Eddie and I have so many great mothers in our family that have been great role models to us and made us who we are today, and now also do the same for our sweet boys. I thought I would share some pictures from the weekend and from the past with all of them.

Grandmother... She is a mother to 5, a grandmother to 7 and a great grandmother to 16. WOW! She is a beautiful on the inside and out and is wonderful to anyone that she meets. We got to see her on Mothers' Day, but I did not take a picture :(. The one below is from Christmas 2010. We all love you so much, grandmother and are so blessed to have such a wonderful example of what a mother/grandmother should be for our family!

My mom came up that Friday to watch the boys. As you can see below, they love her dearly. Will woke up out of his bed that Saturday morning and YELLED Mamaw and cried because he thought she had left.

Ride a little horsey..

Here is a picture of mom and 3 of her grandsons last fall at the beach (With her favorite daughter, of course :) - HA! Amy and Sissy, I know you love that). She is my best friend and I have always wanted to be JUST like her. Even though there were 3 of us, she always made us feel like we were the only one. She is the same way with her grandsons. They each adore her, and if given the chance, they would stay with her indefinitely. She teaches me how to be a better mom and I hope one day my boys think as much of me as we all do of her.

My sisters, Julie (Sissy) and Amy... we have been through so much together. They are my rocks when life gets tough. Below is a picture of all of us with our 7 boys after a hot afternoon playing. I have learned from the both of them my whole life and they are so good to my boys. I don't know what I would do without them!

Nana... a name I hear very often, in a very excited voice. She does whatever she has to do to make sure that my boys are happy all of the time when they are with her. Her retirement has involved a lot of traveling to do whatever she can for all of her grandchildren. I can't count the number of times she has helped us with the boys. She is truly a one of kind mom/nana and we would be lost without her.

Will and Nana last year... when she would sing to him when he was small he would watch her mouth the entire time.

Carter enjoying some water out of a big boy cup from Nana!

Aunt Toni... she practically raised her brother and is such a precious aunt to the boys. She has also been an amazing sister in law to me and took amazing care of me when I was pregnant with the boys. We love her so much! Here is a picture from the golf cart Mother's Day weekend.

Nana and the boys Mother's Day weekend.

I celebrated my 4th Mother's Day (Will was 1 month old on my first one :))! Being a mom has been the biggest blessing of my life. It is safe to say that it has brought me closer to God. Not just because I pray for my babies on a daily basis, but also because I understand his love for his children. I cherish every moment with my two little boys and look forward to many, many more in my lifetime!

21 months old

Our Carter bug was 21 months old on the 7th.... I can't believe my BABY is going to be 2 in less than a month. I ask him all of the time to stay this age. Here are some things that he is doing now...

  • The kiddo loves to talk and repeats everything that he hears.

  • He loves playing ball and being outside

  • He loves his big brother... they are best friends.

  • Says sweet prayers followed by a very loud AMEN!

  • Counts to 10 and can say part of his ABC's

  • Can spell his name with assistance

  • He loves to sing Old McDonald

  • Tells me he is NOT A BABY

  • He is in a very shy stage right now and when around strangers, he only wants mommy

Here are some pictures of our sweet little boy... ENJOY :)!

Reed's 4th birthday party

The last weekend in April, we had the pleasure of celebrating Reed Gapen's 4 birthday. It was at Jump in Southaven, which is such a cool place. Erin always has such fun parties for her boys :).

How adorable is this cake??? It was so good!
The sweet birthday boy blowing out his candles... can't believe he is 4~

My boys were quite shy at first, Will came out of his shell and LOVED the slide bouncers. Carter on the other hand, never left his mom's hip and cried when people spoke to him. He has become a very shy little boy lately! I didn't get any action shots b/c Eddie and I were busy with the boys.

Here are some pics that I was able to manage...

Carter did LOVE his Batman sticker from the party and still has it at home.

Happy birthday, Reed! Thanks so much for including us at your awesome party!
